jamesHello! My name is James Newcomb and I'm glad you're here on this website, and more importantly as a MusicPreneur.

My  journey as a podcaster began in March, 2015 with a show called Outside the Music Box. I was in the Army at the time and was stationed in Korea. With a great deal of logistical issues due to time zone changes, I managed to publish over 90 episodes of the show.

After leaving the military in December, 2015, I launched another podcast called Trumpet Dynamics (in January 2016). This was with the idea of "niching down" and I was able to focus on a topic that I knew well, and was small enough that there wasn't an insane amount of competition.

About halfway through 2016, I had a day long mastermind with the great John Lee Dumas, founder of Entrepreneur on Fire and Podcasters Paradise. My goal for the day was to really hone in on "the one thing" on which I should focus my efforts as an entrepreneur.

It was during that day of brainstorming that the idea of a business called MusicPreneur came into being. (Among the ideas we discussed was a business called "EnTrumpaneur". It was ultimately rejected, partly because of the pending U.S. presidential campaign, but mostly because it's just plain silly.)

MusicPreneur combines two things that are very near and dear to my heart. Music and entrepreneurship are both very powerful forces that can bring tremendous good to the world when used properly.

The goal of MusicPreneur.Com is simple: to provide the tools, techniques, tactics, and occasional tough love to aspiring musicians who are ready to DO THE WORK necessary to succeed!

I am a perennial tinkerer. I'm always trying out new things with the format of the podcast.

However, the format of a 5 day a week podcast devoted strictly to issues that concern MusicPreneurs seems to be the best solution for all involved.

I've also founded another project called the Cornet Revolution. It's a movement of global proportions to restore respect, integrity and notoriety to a once great, but sadly neglected instrument. If you know of anyone who might be interested, send them the link!

Again, thank you for checking out MusicPreneur.Com. I hope you'll check out an episode or two, and be sure to drop me a line if you have any questions, or if you'd like to be on the show!
