15: Navigating the Murky Waters of IP w/ Trippe Friede | T-T-T-T Tuesday

Listen to this episode

This is a continuation of the previous episode on the history and theory of intellectual property.

If you haven’t listened to it, it’s one of the best podcasts I’ve ever heard or produced. It’s really informative and requires multiple listens to even begin to grasp what was said.

This is more of a “nuts and bolts” type of discussion on IP. My guest is Trippe Friede. He’s the lawyer who helped me file the ™ registrations for MusicPreneur and Making Money Making Music.

We filed the paperwork last July, and guess what, I’m still waiting on word of its approval.

Well, government moves at its own special pace, but it’s important for us to be aware of the realities of things like this. Even if you’re like me and think that IP is stupid, you must realize that most people don’t think that. You don’t want to get in trouble by breaking the law. That’s a waste of everyone’s time.

Trippe tells us about IP, how we can navigate its murky waters and gives practical advice for musicians on the topic!
